Please do not attend the practice if you are experiencing any COVID like symptoms, or have been advised to isolate due to COVID infection or exposure. 

We recommend you phone the practice so that we can make alternative arrangements, or to reschedule your appointment. 
It remains a condition of entry to our practice to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
 

On the day appointments

The practice reserves limited appointments for use on the day. Contact reception by phone or in person, should you require an on the day appointment.

After Hours

Better Health South Tamworth is affiliated with 13CURE - the Home Visit Doctor. If you would like a doctor visit after hours, please call 13CURE.

13CURE will ensure Better Health South Tamworth is notified of any medical attention to ensure your continuation of care.

Fees and billing arrangements

Better Health South Tamworth is a primarily a private billing practice, however some consultations may be bulk billed.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, EFT or credit card. Your Medicare rebate will be processed at time of payment and usually pays overnight into your bank account direct from Medicare. The receptionist will help you with the details that will enable you to do this.

Consultation fees are available at the reception desk and are displayed on the notice board. Pensioners, other health care card holders are offered discounted fees. Fees for home visits may apply.

Repeat prescriptions

We do not believe that it is in the best interests of your health to issue repeat prescriptions and referrals without seeing you. Please ensure that all your prescriptions and referrals are up to date when consulting your doctor.

Pathology results

Reception staff are not authorised or qualified to give out results. You are requested to make an appointment to obtain results of any blood tests that have been organised for you. If results are abnormal, your doctor will require you to make an appointment to enable theses to be discussed with you. An appointment is required to discuss x-rays.

Reminder system

Our practice is committed to preventive care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system. 

We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let your doctor or reception staff know.
